| Quite a challenge to get Peanut into the Holiday Spirit |
This is Peanuts. We got Peanuts when we first took over Pets R People Too. He was six weeks old and we had to feed him with a syringe four times a day. Ugly little fellow, he didn't have his feathers in and he was mostly beak. It was like having a new born baby again. We had to mix his formula, make sure the temperature was just right, and feed him just the right amount to fill his craw. Anybody who has ever done this hand feeding knows just how sensitive a baby bird is, but it is definetely worth it, because he bonds to you just like you were his real mom. Needless to say, our ugly little fellow turned into a beautiful blue and gold mccaw. I know it's not good "business" to keep your inventory, but after feeding him and nuturing him there was just no way we were going to give him up. He is Gene and my bird, very good with us, but not real sure about strangers. When you come to visit him please respect his space and DO NOT TRY TO TOUCH HIM!! He can talk up a storm, usually when no one else is around..haha
